Ladies victorious at One Call Stadium

21 November 2019

Mansfield Town Ladies’ director of football Allan Woodfield was delighted following the Stagettes’ 4-2 victory over Loughborough at One Call Stadium last night, urging his side to maintain their impressive start to the campaign for as long as possible.

In an exciting fixture, the amber and blue struck twice in the final ten minutes to take all three points.

The clash was locked at 2-2 as the final whistle approached with Chloe Foster and Chloe Elphick having already scored for the Stagettes.

Nicki Flood and Zoe Meyrick then found the net in the closing stages to secure the Ladies’ third league win of the campaign, propelling them up to fourth place, on ten points after five matches.

Following the victory, Woodfield said: “It’s great to get the win. We know we can play much better but it’s always important to get the three points.

“We’ve been in good form so far this season, winning the majority of our games. We need to maintain this consistency because come the end of the season we want to be challenging.

“It’s always a great occasion for the Ladies to be playing at One Call Stadium. The girls always seem to thrive on the opportunity. I’m sure they’ll look forward to playing at the stadium again soon.”

The Stagettes are next in action when they host Kettering at The RH Academy this Sunday (3pm).
