Commercial partners Industrial Supplies firm Hall-Fast have retained the title of Midlands Exporter of the Year for an unprecedented third year in a row.
Owners Malcolm and Rachel Hall received the award at the Midlands Business Awards ceremony which was held on Friday 28th February at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham.
During his acceptance speech, Malcolm thanked both UK Trade and Investment and the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce for their continued help and advice, adding “I would like to give a special mention to Bob O’Meara, who has been our UKTI trade advisor since we started to export back in January 2009, Bob retired last week and I would like to take this opportunity to publically recognise his role in the Hall-Fast export success story!’ Â
Hall-Fast’s range of 175,000+ products is supplied into 78 countries overseas, their online strategy for success, is not the conventional route to exporting, however due to its success, it has received extensive coverage in national newspapers; UKTI, DNCC and the Federation of Small Business also use Hall-Fast as an example to help promote exporting to other businesses.
In June 2013, the UK government published its Strategy for the Information Economy sector. This strategy forms part of the Government’s work on wider Industrial Strategy, and Hall-Fast were used as an example of how a business can grow using the power of the web!
