Mansfield Town welcomed experienced Lee Taylor as first-team fitness coach in November 2016.

Mr Taylor has a wealth of football experience both in England and abroad and will work closely with the first team squad to further improve and maintain their fitness.

A high performance specialist and advanced strength and conditioning, currently working towards a Masters degree, Lee has worked as head of performance for Notts County and has also led medical departments at Barnet, Luton Town, Wimbledon and Boston United.

He spent time working for the Liverpool FC Academy which saw him complete most of his work in Scandinavia and mainland Europe.

Lee also worked with the Antigua Football Association where he took full control of medical affairs. This role led to him overseeing the national sports of volleyball, athletics and cricket.

When Paul Ince took over as Notts County boss in 2010, Lee was brought in as head of performance until Ince left the club in 2011.

Following his departure from Meadow Lane, he moved across the globe to take up the position of head of the high performance department for Hyundai A-League side Wellington Phoenix.

A year later, the former Maidstone United footballer returned to the UK to be the lead sports therapist for the Egypt Paralympic Track and Field team at London 2012.

Lee then opened Physiofix Sports Injury & Wellbeing Clinic, which specialise in lower limb biomechanics, musculoskeletal and soft tissue treatment, functional rehabilitation, exercise prescription and weight management.

Lee then returned to Notts County and helped to steer them to safety in League One under the stewardship of Shaun Derry.

Since leaving the Magpies, Taylor has enjoyed an exciting two years in India. He has been working in the new Hero Indian Super League, firstly as high performance manager for North East United, before most recently becoming performance specialist with FC Pune City.
