Experienced midfielder Stephen Quinn joined the Stags on loan from Burton Albion in January 2021, before signing permanently in June 2021 on a one-year deal.

The 36-year-old holds experience at the highest level, having consistently appeared in the Premier League for Hull City in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 campaigns.

Quinn began his career with St. Patrick’s Athletic in the League of Ireland, before making the switch to Sheffield United in 2005.

The midfielder spent seven years with the Blades, making over 200 league appearances in red and white, including a season in the top flight in 2006/07.

Hull City signed Quinn for an undisclosed fee in 2012, and the Republic of Ireland international made a huge impact in his first season, scoring on his debut and appearing 44 times as the Tigers were promoted to the Premier League.

He also started the FA Cup final against Arsenal in 2014, after scoring Hull’s fourth goal in their 5-3 semi-final win over Sheffield United at Wembley Stadium.

A spell with Reading followed – with whom he spent three years in the Championship – before signing for Nigel Clough’s Burton Albion in 2018.

Quinn also has experience at international level, representing the Republic of Ireland 18 times, including a memorable 1-1 draw against Germany in a EURO 2016 qualifier.
