John-Joe O'Toole signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Stags in January 2022 after impressing on an initial three month deal.
O'Toole, who can play in both defence and midfield, has made over 400 career league appearances for Watford, Sheffield United, Colchester United, Bristol Rovers, Southend United, Northampton Town and Burton Albion.
The 34-year-old earned promotion from League Two with Northampton in 2016, where he was named in the PFA Team of the Year for a second season.
