Imposing central defender George Taft endured a frustrating first season at One Call Stadium due to a severe hamstring injury.
Taft suffered a hamstring strain in September 2016 and didn't appear again until March 2017 after he required an operation on the muscle.
However, after returning to the fold, Taft showed his quality to manager Steve Evans and he was rewarded with a new contract at One Call Stadium for 2017/18.
The 6ft 5in Leicester City Academy product previously won promotion from League 2 with the Brewers in the 2014/15 season, during which he made 30 appearances.
A former England schoolboy, Taft represented his country at under 18 level where he scored his only international goal against Poland in 2010, before appearing five times for the under 19s.
The defender spent time on loan at Cambridge United in the first half of the 2015/16 campaign, but his season was cut short due to a tear to his anterior cruciate ligament.
