Mansfield Town under-19s are back in action on Saturday for a Youth Alliance League fixture against Rotherham United at RH Academy (11am kick-off).
On Tuesday, the young Stags secured a 3-1 win on the road against Hartlepool United. Attack-minded midfielder Jakub Kruszynski, creative midfielder Bailey Hamilton and versatile attacker Ronnie Kokkinos were on the scoresheet.
Under-16s’ centre-back Cormac Maher featured for 90 minutes in the north east and produced a commanding display as part of a solid defensive unit. Captain Taylor Anderson, centre-back Tyler Whyle and left-back Darien Wauchope completed the rest of the back four.
Following last Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Millers in the Youth Alliance Cup Northern Section Final, Sam Collins’ side will be aiming to go one step better when they welcome Rotherham United to RH Academy this weekend
Forward McKeal Abdullah found the back of the net in the recent cup clash but missed Stags’ trip to Hartlepool through injury. The in-form attacker is likely to be included in Saturday’s matchday squad.
