The young Stags are aiming to end their season on a high following a 2022/23 campaign which has provided many positives for the club’s Academy.

Sam Collins’ young guns have showcased several outstanding performances throughout the season which has enabled some of the second-year scholars to train and play with the first team at various points.

Left-back Darien Wauchope and forward McKeal Abdullah have been named on the first team bench on a number of occasions throughout the season.

Highlights include 18-year-old right-back Taylor Anderson making his first team debut in Stags’ 4-0 win against Carlisle United on 14 February.

In recent youth matches, several first-year scholars have played for the under-19s as they prepare for next season, aiming to follow in the footsteps of this year’s second-year players.

In the young guns’ most recent game - against Huddersfield Town on Saturday 22 April, under-16s’ attacker Che Whitman-Brown stole the headlines scoring in his first start for the under-19s with centre-back Tyler Whyle, forward McKeal Abdullah and versatile attacker Ronnie Kokkinos also finding the back of the net.

Last time out against Thursday’s opponents, the under-19s produced an outstanding display on the road as they secured a 3-1 win in the north-east courtesy of goals from attack-minded midfielder Jakub Kruszynski, creative midfielder Bailey Hamilton and Ronnie Kokkinos.

All supporters are welcome to attend the game for free at the following venue: RH Academy, Woburn Lane, Mansfield, NG19 7RT.
