Youth preview: Stags v Bradford

21 October 2022

Mansfield Town under-19s are back in action this Saturday for a Youth Alliance League fixture against Bradford City at RH Academy (11am kick-off).

The young Stags will go into tomorrow's game against the Bantams in good spirits following last weekend's hard fought 1-0 win at Stockport County.

This weekend's visitors, Bradford, won 5-0 against Hartlepool United in their previous Youth Alliance League fixture.

Speaking to www.mansfieldtown.net ahead of the encounter, PDP lead coach Sam Collins said: “It should be a really good game.

“We’re looking forward to it but it won't be easy.”

Jakub Kruszynski has been in sensational form in recent weeks. The attacker scored a brace in Wednesday night’s 6-0 win against Selston in the Notts Senior Cup.

“Jakub is performing well at the moment," said Sam.

“He’s young and is learning. He’s still capable of a lot more.

“Things like his running power and directness can still be improved.”

Sam was also impressed with the defensive performances of Cormac Maher and Cody Collins at Parish Hall Ground as they helped Mansfield to a clean sheet, he said: “Cormac had a very strong second-half.

“Cody Collins played very well in the first-half with it being his first game back and hopefully he will be involved again on Saturday.”

Ahead of the visit of Bradford City to RH Academy, central midfielder Charlie Carter will be assessed after being on the receiving end of a strong challenge in the last minute of Wednesday night's match.

As ever, all supporters are welcome to attend the game for free at the following venue: RH Academy, Woburn Lane, Mansfield, NG19 7RT.
