Important information for Stags’ fans heading to Hillsborough

Stags’ supporters travelling to Hillsborough this Saturday should take note of the following information, provided by our hosts, ahead of this weekend’s Emirates FA Cup second round tie away at Sheffield Wednesday.

Match tickets purchased for the fixture are now available to collect from the ticket office at One Call Stadium.

Supporters who are unable to collect tickets from the One Call Stadium ticket office by 5pm today (Friday) can collect tickets tomorrow at Hillsborough ahead of our Emirates FA Cup second round tie against Sheffield Wednesday (3pm kick-off).

This also applies to supporters who have not received tickets due to the postal strikes.

Supporters who purchased tickets up to and including Friday 18 November will be in the upper tier and those who bought tickets thereafter will be in the lower tier.

Supporters whose seats are in the upper tier should collect from turnstile 23 and fans in the lower tier from turnstile 16.

Away travel brief (provided by Sheffield Wednesday):

  • Please note that Hillsborough is a cashless stadium.
  • All bottle tops must be removed before entering the stadium.
  • Flags will only be admitted to the stadium with proof of fire retardance.
  • Alcohol is on sale in the stadium.
  • To assist with searching, please leave anything not required in the stadium in your vehicle.
  • Please have all tickets ready for inspection when you enter the stadium.

Car parking:

The surrounding area around the Hillsborough is largely residential and has parking restrictions on matchdays.

There is parking available at Hillsborough Exchange Car Park (S6 4HL) and Middlewood Rd (S6 1TL) or alternatively use external websites such as http://justpark.com http://yourparkingspace.co.uk or http://parkopedia.co.uk

Coach parking:

Coaches attending the game will make their way straight to Claywheels Lane to park. Supporters can make their way to the stadium from there and will return to Claywheels following the conclusion of the fixture.

Stadium bag policy

To help provide a safer environment for fans, Hillsborough has implemented a strict bag policy for all.

All spectators and staff are prohibited from bringing any bag into the stadium unless it adheres to the Sheffield Wednesday’s bag policy. 

Non-approved bags and prohibited items will be refused entry into the ground. 

All items and bags carried by spectators and staff will be carefully inspected upon entry to the Stadium which could include a personal search or use of a “wand”.

Sheffield Wednesday reserves the right to refuse entry to any bags or items that are covered under Ground Regulations 7 and 8. – Please refer to EFL Ground Regulations for more information.

If for any reason (medical or other) you require a bag that does not adhere to this policy then please contact the club on 03700 20 1867 (this must be done prior to the date of the fixture).

Entry will be Permitted subject to the Terms set out by the Safety Officer of the day and a search of the bag on the day.
