Mansfield Town will be in ‘Northern Section Group F’ for this season’s 2022/23 Papa Johns Trophy.
The Stags will be in the same group as League One side Derby County and recently promoted League Two outfit Grimsby Town.
The final slot in Group F will be filled by a Premier League club’s under-21s’ side.
The 16 invited under-21 teams will be drawn into their respective Northern and Southern groups on Thursday during the draw.
The eight Premier League sides in the Northern Section of the draw and therefore eligible to face the Stags are: Manchester United under-21s, Manchester City under-21s, Liverpool under-21s, Everton under-21s, Newcastle under-21s, Wolverhampton Wanderers under-21s, Leeds United under-21s and Leicester City under-21s.
Premier League clubs will be drawn into their allocated groups live on Sky Sports News at 11:30am.
The Papa Johns Trophy group stages will take place on the following dates:
Group game one – Week commencing 29 August
Group game two – Week commencing 19 September
Group game three – Week commencing 17 October
