Mansfield Town manager Nigel Clough has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for January.
In a month which saw the Stags set a new club record of eight successive league victories, the boss led Mansfield to four league wins from four games.
The nominations from Sky Bet are as follows:
Joey Barton (Bristol Rovers)
The post-relegation hangover at the Memorial Stadium took a long time to dissipate, but Barton’s methods finally began to bring improved consistency of performances and the reward of 10 points from four unbeaten games.
Nigel Clough (Mansfield Town)
Another perfect month for Clough’s team whose four victories extended their winning run in League Two to eight matches. That in spite of an interrupted schedule that saw them play just one league game in a spell of 30 days.
Rob Edwards (Forest Green Rovers)
Three Covid-related postponements to end 2021 couldn’t halt the Forest Green charge as Edwards’ side swept through an unbeaten month to earn 14 points from six games. The highlight was an emphatic 4-0 away win at second-placed Tranmere.
Paul Tisdale (Stevenage)
After a fact-finding first month in charge, Tisdale’s true impact at Stevenage was glimpsed in January which ended with a five-game unbeaten run in which his side scored an impressive 12 goals to move away from the relegation places.
The winner will be announced on Friday 11 February.
