Youth preview: Harrogate U18s v Stags U18s

7 April 2022

Mansfield Town’s under-18s face Harrogate Town tomorrow afternoon in their second Youth Alliance Merit League fixture (12pm kick-off).

The young Stags produced a fine display against Burton Albion in their first Merit League encounter last Saturday.

Attacker McKeal Abdullah was on the scoresheet for the amber and blue at RH Academy.

Elliot Hartmann, the 14-year-old right-back, started once again for the under-18s as the youngster continues to impress for the youth side.

Cormac Maher, the youth team’s youngest-ever goalscorer, also started the match against the Brewers at the heart of the Stags’ defence.

Charlie Carter, Cody Collins, Freddie Pitts and Curtis Davies started in the Stags’ under-23s' side that beat Basford United in the quarter-final of the Nottinghamshire FA Saturday Senior Cup.

Jakub Kruszynski and Jack Deakin also featured for Mansfield at Greenwich Avenue.

The youthful Stags have progressed through to the semi-final stage of the competition.

Harrogate Town will welcome the Mansfield to the York St John Sports Park this Saturday for their first encounter in the Merit League.

Supporters are eligible to attend this weekend's encounter with Harrogate, however, any experiencing Covid-19 symptoms should not attend.
