Mansfield under-18s are in FA Youth Cup action this Thursday when they face Boston United at Jakemans Community Stadium (7pm).
The first-round fixture will be the Stags’ first game since their convincing 4-1 home victory against Huddersfield at RH Academy last Saturday.
A brace from Jack Deakin, a third from Diego Edwards and a record-breaking fourth from 14-year-old Cormac Maher sealed the points for Mansfield last time out.
Maher’s headed finish made him the youth team’s youngest-ever goalscorer. The teenage defender’s goal came in a 15-minute cameo towards the end of the Youth Alliance League game.
Thursday’s hosts, Boston, have won their last six matches in all competitions.
Having won their previous three in the Youth Alliance League, Mansfield head to Lincolnshire in fine form of their own.
