Stags sign Wolves goalkeeper on loan

1 February 2021

Mansfield Town is delighted to announce the loan signing of Wolves goalkeeper Jamie Pardington until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old shot-stopper stands at 6’5” and signed for the Premier League outfit in 2018, following a spell with Rushall Olympic.

The goalkeeper began his Wolves career with the under-18s before going on to impress in the Birmingham Senior Cup with the under-23s, subsequently being rewarded with a new contract in July 2019.

Pardington has experienced first team training with Wolves, working alongside international goalkeepers Rui Patricio and John Ruddy.

The youngster also spent time on loan with National League South side Dulwich Hamlet this season, and saved twice in a penalty shootout on his debut, against Corinthian Casuals in the Emirates FA Cup.

Manager Nigel Clough said: “We wanted another goalkeeper to come in to give us some cover and Jamie fits the bill.

“We don’t have anyone between Aidan Stone and 17-year-old goalkeeper Maison Campbell.

“We needed someone in that age bracket to come in and train with the first team and we’re pleased to have Jamie on board.”
