Mansfield Town’s U18s travel to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday as they look to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Burton Albion (1pm).
The Stags currently sit third in the EFL Youth Alliance League (North East Division) with six points from three games, whilst Doncaster find themselves eighth in the ten-strong league.
Rovers' only points of the season came courtesy of a 2-1 win away at Huddersfield Town last weekend.
The two sides last met in February of this year, with Doncaster running out 2-1 winners in a tight encounter at the RH Academy.
On a windy day in Mansfield, it took Doncaster just 30 minutes to break the deadlock, but their opener was cancelled out by a goal from Stags’ forward Ryan Ingram four minutes later.
After an even second-half, the scores remained level until the dying embers of the game. A frantic finish saw the Doncaster goalkeeper set his team free after an excellent save, and the Rovers' attack took full advantage.
Striker Junior Smith rounded Maison Campbell in the Mansfield goal before slotting into the empty net to claim all three points.
Saturday's match kicks off at 1pm but will take place behind-closed-doors.
