Mansfield Town under-18s are in action this Saturday, when they host Burton Albion at the RH Academy (11am kick-off).
The Stags go into this weekend’s clash fresh from an impressive victory away to Scunthorpe United on Tuesday.
Ryan Ingram led the way for the amber and blue with a brilliant hat-trick, whilst Isaac Fisher netted his first goal of the season to give the young guns a 4-2 win.
The young Brewers have not played since 25 January, where they were beaten 4-2 away at Chesterfield. However, the defeat against the Spireites did come after three successive victories.
Burton currently sit 10th in the Youth Alliance standings.
The last time the two sides met, it was the Stags who triumphed after a pulsating 3-2 success. Shamar Lawson’s brace and Rio Molyneaux’s effort sealed all three points at St George’s Park.
Youth team coach Mike Whitlow is looking for a similar level of performance on Saturday.
He said: “We want a performance again. Can these lads perform to the best of their ability and do their utmost every single game?
“If they do that and put a performance in, we come away as coaches pleased because they’re learning. They’re going to make mistakes and are going to develop, but we want them to do the very best they can do.”
As ever, supporters are welcome to attend the game for free at the following venue: The RH Academy, Wodburn Lane, Mansfield, NG19 7RT.
