Ryan Sweeney will be available for Mansfield Town’s next three matches after an independent Regulatory Commission upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal.

The defender was dismissed during the EFL League Two fixture against Exeter City  on Saturday 31 August for violent conduct.

Manager John Dempster said: “We’re pleased with the result of the appeal and are encouraged to have Ryan available for selection for our forthcoming fixtures.

“The process was efficient and fair and it’s encouraging to see that an incorrect decision, through human error, can be overturned in retrospect when it is right and just to do so.”
