Mansfield Town under-18s are back in Youth Alliance Cup action this weekend, when they travel to face Doncaster Rovers under-18s at Cantley Park (11am kick-off).
The Stags will go into this one full of confidence after a resounding 4-0 win over Notts County at the RH Academy last Saturday.
A brace from Jimmy Knowles, a header from Jamie Chisholm and a late strike from substitute Nathan Caine saw the amber and blue cruise to victory over their Nottinghamshire rivals.
Despite a difficult start to their Youth Alliance Northeast Division campaign, two successive wins have seen the Stags close the gap on leaders Doncaster Rovers to two points.
After getting their league campaign back on track, Mansfield will be looking to do the same in the Youth Alliance Cup.
The Stags are already playing catch up in this competition after suffering a 3-1 home defeat to Fleetwood Town in their opening clash.
Rovers have made a strong start in both league and cup, with four wins and a draw in all competitions.
The early pacesetter did suffer defeat last time out however, as they suffered a home loss to Bradford City.
Rovers completed a league double over the Stags last year on their way to finishing runners-up, so the amber and blue will have to improve on this record if they’re to keep their Youth Alliance Cup hopes alive.
Supporters are welcome to attend the game at the following venue: Cantley Park, Cantley, Doncaster, DN4 6HE.
