Mansfield Town and West Notts College are offering an exciting opportunity for 16 to 18-year-olds to enrol onto an Education and Professional Football course.
The pathway offered will consist of a five-year plan that begins with a BTEC or A-Level course, leading onto a Foundation level degree or higher.
This route enables the club to offer the students a unique opportunity to develop their football skills whilst creating a positive future for themselves academically.
In order to be accepted onto the course, applicants will be asked to attend a trial game, taking place at 1pm on Friday 01 November at The RH Academy.
Following this, there will be a parent and player's evening at West Notts College (in the university centre) on Thursday 07 November at 6.30pm.
All coaching will be completed by the following UEFA qualified staff: Liam Hearn, Mike Whitlow, Simon Ward, Jamie McGuire, Jack Thomas & Sam Wilson.

Stags' defender Noah Stokes, who is currently partaking in the course at West Notts College, said: “Football is never a guarantee. You might make it at the highest level but there’s no guarantee you’re going to stay in the industry forever, so you need to give yourself the best back-up plan. For me, education is the best way of doing that.
“Although my mind currently isn’t set on what I want to do after football, the education I’m getting is going to give me options, rather than a focus on one specific area. You always need to support yourself and there is life outside of football.
“Club’s should always encourage players to look and see past their immediate career.”
