Preview: Stags vs Salford City

21 October 2019

The Stags are back in action on Tuesday evening as Salford City visit One Call Stadium for a Sky Bet League Two encounter. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the match…

Team news.png

Top scorer Danny Rose will be out for the game after rolling an ankle in training last Thursday. The frontman, who has seven league goals to his name this term, is expected to be out for four to six weeks.

The game will also come too soon for fellow forward Craig Davies, who is a long-term absentee with an ongoing ankle problem, and Jordan Graham, who is currently working towards full match fitness.

Midfielder Jacob Mellis has a hamstring issue and is expected to return to training next week.

Wing-back Hayden White will complete the final game of his three-match suspension after his red card against Grimsby at Blundell Park.

Defender Ryan Sweeney will, however, be available for selection following a one-match suspension after an accumulation of five yellow cards.

The Ammies will be without Liam Hogan for the game, with Richie Towell, Jack Baldwin and Chris Neal all doubts.

The Stags made it three games unbeaten on Saturday as they came from 2-0 down to take a point against Forest Green Rovers. Striker Andy Cook came off the bench to score twice for the amber and blue.

After putting together successive victories against Walsall and Cambridge United, Salford suffered a 2-0 defeat to Northampton Town at the weekend.

The referee for Tuesday’s match will be Neil Hair, assisted by David Benton and Marc Wilson. The fourth official will be Abbas Khan.

Mr. Hair last took charge of a Mansfield fixture when the Stags drew 2-2 away at Yeovil Town in Sky Bet League Two last August.
