Earlier this month, Mansfield Town Ladies were well represented in the Notts Girls and Ladies League Plate finals, with four of our junior teams competing to lift the trophy in their respective age groups.
After losing out in last year’s final, the under-16s eased past Southwell City by way of a 4-1 scoreline to win the competition this term.
The under-14s were 2-0 up at half-time in their final against Long Eaton United. Their opponents pulled a goal back and scored a late consolation, yet a 3-2 victory was enough to win the Stagettes the Plate for the second successive season.
Arnold Eagles were the opponents for the under-12s, a game which saw the Stagettes win the Plate for the second year running with a comfortable 4-0 win.
Despite a valiant effort, our under-10s were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Woodlands. It was a superb showing in the competition for the under-10s, who played their tournament in the higher age bracket.
We’d like to say a huge well done to our junior ladies’ sides and their coaches for their efforts and success in their respective competitions.
