Youth preview: Rotherham United vs Stags

11 March 2019

Stags’ under-18s will be aiming to make it back-to-back away wins when they face Rotherham United under-18s in the EFL Youth Alliance on Tuesday afternoon (1pm kick-off).

Coming off the back of a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United, in which Tyrese Sinclair and Rhys Sarson both found the net, Stags will be brimming with confidence - and rightly so - as they look to continue applying the pressure on the teams above them in the table.

Mansfield, currently sitting in fifth, could move into second place with a win on Tuesday, due to the other sides not playing until the following Saturday.

Stags and Rotherham last met back in September, with Stags edging a 3-2 win in a narrow encounter - the highlight of that game was a stunning Tyrese Sinclair free-kick. Goals also came from Lewis Davis and Rhys Sarson.

John Dempster was full of praise for the commitment and effort shown by his boys last weekend, and he and his coaching staff will be hoping for more of the same on Tuesday.

All supporters are welcome to attend the game, and for details of the venue please see here: SHU, The Graham Solley Sports Development Centre, Sheffield & Hallam University, Bawtry Road, Sheffield, S9 1UA.
