Match preview: Port Vale vs Stags

8 March 2019

Stags travel to Vale Park on Saturday 09 March to face Port Vale in Sky Bet League Two (3pm kick-off). Here's all you need to know ahead of the clash...

Stags will be without long-term absentees Bobby Olejnik and Hayden White for the match.

Mansfield will also play Saturday's clash without fowards Danny Rose (jaw), Tyler Walker (suspended), Craig Davies (ankle) and Jordan Graham (knee).

Defender Matt Preston, who has a knee injury, will be assessed on Friday afternoon.

For the Valiants, Manny Oyeleke is a doubt for the game.

Stags made it two wins on the bounce last time out with a 4-2 victory over Cheltenham Town at One Call Stadium. CJ Hamilton (2), Will Atkinson and Alex MacDonald were on target for Mansfield.

Despite not having won since January, Port Vale showed signs of improvement last weekend as they battled for a point away to Notts County, ending a run of four successive defeats.

STAGS' LAST FIVE GAMES: 3W | 0D | 2L

PORT VALE'S LAST FIVE GAMES: 0W | 1D | 4L

We last faced the Valiants in November 2018 at One Call Stadium, with Mansfield winning by a 1-0 scoreline thanks to CJ Hamilton's first-half strike. Manny Oyeleke was sent off for a second bookable offence in the second-half.

The referee for Saturday's match will be Darren Bond, assisted by Mark Dwyer and Adam Matthews. The fourth official will be James Adcock.

Mr. Bond last took charge of a Stags' fixture in August 2017, a 2-1 loss away to eventual Sky Bet League Two champions Accrington Stanley.

Stags have sold out their allocation of adult tickets for the match, with over 1,000 Mansfield supporters expected to attend the game.

There are still tickets remaining in the senior, young adult, junior and under-12 categories.

Adult tickets can still be purchased on the day of the game, and are priced at £22.

Parking for visiting fans is in front of the Hamil Road Stand which is accessible through Gate C. The charge is £5 for cars and £16 for minibuses.

Just outside the away turnstiles is the club bar called the Vale Social which allows entry to both home and away supporters. A little further away in Burslem town centre is The Bull's Head (ST6 3AJ), with a wide selection of drinks available. Food and drink will be available from the kiosks inside the ground.
