Preview: Stags vs Rangers U23s

26 July 2019

Mansfield Town welcome Rangers under-23s to One Call Stadium on Saturday for their final pre-season fixture ahead of the 2019-20 campaign (1pm kick-off). Here’s all you need to know ahead of the encounter…

Team news.png

Stags' boss John Dempster confirmed on Thursday afternoon that wing-back Hayden White will be out for up to two weeks with a minor hamstring strain, suffered during Tuesday night's 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest under-23s.

The amber and blue will be without forwards Craig Davies and Jordan Graham for the match, while goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik, a long-term absentee due to an ACL injury suffered last season, will also miss out.

Midfielder Willem Tomlinson suffered minor knee ligament damage in last week’s game against Blackburn Rovers and will therefore not be included in Saturday’s matchday squad.

Young defender Noah Stokes will be absent from the squad after dislocating his knee in our pre-season away match against Bradford Park Avenue.

Additionally, no trialists are expected to feature in Saturday's match.

Last time out, the Stags recorded a 2-1 victory over a mixed Nottingham Forest lineup at One Call Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Jason Cummings fired the Reds into an early lead, but Mansfield overturned the deficit thanks to an Ethan Stewart own goal and a late Nicky Maynard strike.
