Reserves preview: Wigan Athletic vs Stags

21 January 2019

Stags' reserves travel to face Wigan Athletic reserves tomorrow for a Central League clash at Christopher Park Training Ground (1pm kick-off).

Last time out, Mansfield fell to a narrow 2-1 loss to Notts County in the Central League, with forward Tom Fielding finding the net for the amber and blue.

Prior to that, a mixed Stags' lineup ran out 3-1 winners over Rotherham in the Central League Cup. Midfielder Calum Butcher scored twice in the game, with Otis Khan adding the other goal.

Going into Tuesday's clash, Stags sit fourth in the Central League North table, just two points behind third-placed Notts County, who have played a game more.

Tomorrow's opponents, Wigan, are placed sixth in the table heading into the match, yet are just a point behind the Stags, having also played a game less.

Last time out, the Latics recorded a comfortable 3-1 victory at home to Morecambe, who currently sit level on points with the Stags.

Mansfield and Wigan are yet to meet this season, as the originally scheduled fixture in November was postponed.

Entry to Tuesday's match is free for supporters, and the venue can be located at the following address: Christopher Park Training Ground, Off Woodrush Road, Standish Lower Ground, Wigan, WN6 8LB.
