Reserves preview: Rotherham United vs Stags

7 January 2019

Stags' reserves will continue their Central League Cup campaign on Tuesday afternoon when they take on Rotherham United reserves (1pm kick-off).

Last time out, the Stags recorded an impressive 4-2 victory over Doncaster Rovers' reserves at the RH Academy.

Striker Jimmy Knowles opened the scoring in the game, with his strike being backed up by a Tom Fielding effort and Tyrese Sinclair brace in the second half.

The victory elevated Mansfield to second in the North Central group, behind Notts County, who sit top of the table with three wins from three.

Tuesday's opponents, Rotherham, sit fourth in the group table going into the match, behind third-placed Doncaster on goal difference.

The Stags went all the way in last year's Central League Cup competition, beating Wigan Athletic 3-0 in the final.

Entry to Tuesday's match is free for all supporters. Parking at Roundwood Sports Complex is also free, but very limited.

For supporters wishing to attend Tuesday's game, the venue's address is as follows: Roundwood Sports Complex, Green Lane, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, S62 6LA.
