Stags’ under-18s host Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Youth Alliance League this Saturday at The RH Academy (11am kick-off).
Stags were beaten by a narrow 2-1 scoreline against Lincoln City last time out, with Mansfield forward Riley O’Sullivan scoring an excellent solo effort in the game.
The defeat meant that Stags were knocked from the summit of the table, but they still lie just one point off top-spot ahead of this weekend's game.
Saturday’s opponents, Doncaster, are four points behind Mansfield in the league table, yet have two games in hand on the Stags, making Saturday’s match an enticing encounter for both sides.
Doncaster began the season brightly, but have recently struggled to maintain that form. Their most recent result - a 4-2 win against Chesterfield - was their first win in the league for five games.
The same scoreline, 4-2, was also the result the last time Stags played Doncaster - with the latter coming away with the three points. Jimmy Knowles and Ryan Ingram were on target for John Dempster’s side.
