Reserves preview: Stags vs Notts County

14 January 2019

Stags' reserves return to Central League action on Tuesday 15 January when they welcome Notts County reserves to The RH Academy (2pm kick-off).

Mansfield's second string last featured in the Central League in mid-October, in a 1-0 victory over Grimsby Town.

Since then, the amber and blue have featured in four Central League Cup clashes, winning three of them.

In Stags' last outing, a mixed lineup recorded a 3-1 win over Rotherham United, courtesy of a strike from Otis Khan and a Calum Butcher brace.

Mansfield have won two out of four Central League fixtures so far this campaign, with the highlight being a 5-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers at Keepmoat Stadium.

Tuesday's opponents, Notts County, recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory away to Doncaster Rovers last week, ensuring their progression to the semi-finals of the Central League Cup.

Despite their impressive showing in the Central League Cup, the Magpies sit two places below the Stags in league matters, having also played a game more.

Mansfield sit third in the Central League North table heading into Tuesday's clash, just six points adrift of leaders Rotherham United with a game in hand.

For supporters wishing to attend Tuesday's clash, the address is as follows: The RH Academy (3G pitch), Woburn Lane, Mansfield, NG19 7RT. Entry is free for supporters.
