Loan update

9 January 2019

Read up on how three of Stags' youngsters have been faring in their respective loan spells.

Kane Baldwin at Coleshill Town

The beginning of December started well for Kane Baldwin and Coleshill Town, as after extending his loan at the club, he started three games on the bounce – all of which Coleshill won, conceding just two goals in the process. Following this, Baldwin spent a period on the sidelines, which saw him as an unused sub for the next three fixtures – all of which, Coleshill failed to win; conceding five goals in the three games Baldwin was absent. January saw the defender re-introduced into the team, where he has held his own, helping Coleshill to a 3-0 win followed by a well fought 1-1 draw against Bedford Town.

Cameron Healey at AFC Mansfield

Currently on loan at AFC Mansfield, Cameron Healey has helped the club turn its fortunes around with a good run of results. Since joining AFC Mansfield on 13 December, the midfielder has been enjoying his loan spell, seeing him start in five consecutive fixtures – completing 90 minutes in each game. After losing on his debut, AFC Mansfield have not tasted defeat since, and are currently on a four game unbeaten streak; during this spell, Healey has helped AFC to their first win in over three months, which was swiftly followed by another win the following week.

Nyle Blake at Alfreton Town

Versatile forward Nyle Blake has recently joined Alfreton Town on loan from the Stags and will be in contention to make his debut against Darlington FC at the weekend. Blake put in a 90 minute performance in the Stags’ reserves 3-1 win against Rotherham yesterday, which saw him bag an assist with an impressive run and low cross to Calum Butcher in the first half. In the second half, he replaced the injured Jake Kean in net, where he managed to keep the Millers at bay.
