Stags’ reserves are in Central League Cup action on Tuesday 10 December as they host Scunthorpe United reserves at The RH Academy (1pm kick-off).
Mansfield have played one Central League Cup match so far this season, narrowly losing 4-3 to a strong West Brom side.
A hat-trick from Wales international Hal Robson-Kanu helped the Baggies towards a comfortable lead, but strikes from Andy Cook, Omari Sterling-James and Tyrese Sinclair saw the Stags almost record a remarkable comeback.
In league matters, Mansfield’s reserves have made an unbeaten start to the season, winning one and drawing the other of their opening two matches.
Goals from Sterling-James, Jordan Graham, Aiden Walker and Tyrese Sinclair saw the amber and blue record a comfortable 4-1 win against Rotherham United last time out.
Scunthorpe United also lost their opening fixture of the Central League Cup, being on the receiving end of a 3-1 scoreline against Port Vale.
The Iron, however, have made an identical start to the league campaign to the Stags, recording a win and a draw in their opening two matches.
Last time out, Scunthorpe recorded a 1-1 draw against Doncaster Rovers, with their victory coming by way of a 4-1 scoreline against Walsall earlier in the season.
After a positive start in the league from both sides, they will be looking to take that form into Tuesday afternoon’s cup game.
The address for Tuesday’s match is as follows: The RH Academy, Woburn Lane, Mansfield, NG19 7RT.
Entry to the game is free for all supporters.
