Preview: Carlisle United vs Stags

16 August 2019

Next up for the Stags is a trip to face Carlisle United in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday 17 August (3pm kick-off). Here's our match preview...

Team news.png

Mansfield will be without long-term absentees Craig Davies and Bobby Olejnik for the clash.

Midfield man Jacob Mellis, alongside defender Matt Preston, are suspended for the game.

The Blues have a clean bill of health heading into Saturday's fixture, after striker Hallam Hope returned to action in Tuesday's 3-0 win away to Championship side Barnsley.

The Stags have made an unbeaten start to the 2019-20 campaign, but are yet to secure a victory, having drawn their first two matches with a 2-2 scoreline.

Carlisle have won one and lost one of their opening two Sky Bet League Two matches, but secured a phenomenal 3-0 away win over Championship side Barnsley on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup.

We last faced the Blues in January of this year at Brunton Park, with the hosts winning by a 3-2 scoreline.

Carlisle have informed us that, following the recent bad weather, they expect the supporters' car park to be closed for this weekend's game.

Limited street parking is available in the areas around the stadium, but supporters should be aware of parking restrictions.

More parking is available at the Rosehill Industrial Estate (CA1 2RW) opposite Tesco, and this is roughly a 20 minute walk from the ground.

The club have been informed that the Carlisle Rugby Club on Warwick Road has parking available for away supporters.

The Carlisle Rugby Club also has a club bar, which allows away supporters and is family friendly. Also on Warwick Road is the Beehive, which allows away supporters.

Hot, cold and alcoholic drinks - along with hot and cold food - are served from the kiosks in the away stand at Brunton Park. Visiting supporters are also welcome in the Sunset Suite Bar at the stadium, which shows live football on big screens and is situated on the west side of the ground.
