Stags’ boss John Dempster signed up to the Stags Supporters’ Association recently, the first Mansfield manager ever to do so.

The SSA are the official supporters’ club of Mansfield Town and recently donated £25,000 to the Stags at their Annual General Meeting.

They offer a range of membership options which include benefits such as discounts on away travel, room hire at One Call Stadium and Stags’ merchandise.

SSA membership coordinator Kieran Halpin-Danby said: "SSA are proud that John Dempster has become the very first Mansfield Town manager to choose to join the Stags Supporters’ Association.

"John wanted to sign up as soon as he heard about the SSA fundraising at our recent AGM, in which we donated £25,000 to the club.

"It’s great to have a manager who instantly recognised the impact that the SSA members have and we are proud to have the manager as a member!"

Manager John Dempster said: "I’m proud to become a member of the Stags Supporters’ Association as I know the great work which they carry out season-upon-season, simply for their love of the club.

"Since I joined the club seven years ago, initially as a player, I’ve been amazed by their commitment and fundraising efforts. Their committee, which is made up of volunteers, and their members, are a credit to the Stags and I know everyone at the club is extremely grateful for the work which they do.

"Our supporters have backed me personally ever since I signed for Mansfield, both home and away, so this is just a small gesture of appreciation to our fans and for the endeavours of everyone at the SSA."
