Ten-man Stags were held to a 1-1 draw in Saturday morning's EFL Youth Alliance clash away to Notts County.
The Magpies led through striker Tyreece Palmer, before captain James Tague scored a brilliant equaliser from outside the area.
Mansfield were reduced to ten men after striker Rhys Sarson was sent off in the second-half, and had a penalty saved by County ‘keeper Tiernan Brooks.
Sarson had the first chance of the game after he knocked Morgan Mellors off the ball before running through on goal and forcing a good save out of Brooks.
Kieran Cummings had Notts' first effort as he found himself with time to shoot at goal, yet his strike was wide of the mark and posed no danger to Mansfield ‘keeper Keaton Marrs.
The County man had another golden chance seconds later, running through the Stags' defence before seeing his effort excellently blocked by defender Kian Sketchley.
On minute 12, Sarson had the ball in the back of the net, however he was deemed offside by the officials.
The deadlock was finally broken on minute 26 by Palmer, who did well to create space in the box and curl his effort into the top right corner.
Two minutes later and it should have been two to the hosts. The hosts won the ball back on the edge of the box and put in a dangerous ball to the area, which was met by Cummings who fired his effort well wide from close range.
Mansfield got their equaliser in the 35th minute through Tague, with the ball falling to him on the edge of the box, prompting the midfielder to smash home into the top left to make it 1-1.
The home side responded well, and came close off a corner after the ball fell to the back post, with no County players able to connect to put them ahead.
Mansfield started the second-half the better side, and nearly took the lead after substitute Larrell King was played through, with the County defence nearly putting it in their own net to stop him getting through.
The Magpies had their first chance of the second-half with a free-kick, yet Cummings blasted it high and wide and caused no danger.
The Stags continued to dominate the second-half, with Sarson coming close after a King long throw fell to his feet, before turning brilliantly and seeing his effort well saved by Brooks.
Sarson was sent off on the hour mark for an arm to the face of Notts County defender Owen Betts.
Winger Rio Molyneaux did excellently to win a penalty after surging into the opposition box, however the resulting spot-kick was well saved by Brooks, who matched forward Riley O’Sullivan’s effort.
The hosts came close again on minute 79, when winger Leo Marshall put a dangerous cross into the back post which was connected with superbly, and looked certain to be going in if not for a brilliant block by Sketchley.
Sketchley came close to scoring himself, after winning the ball back and running through off a Tague through ball and hitting it low, forcing Brooks into tipping it wide and out for a corner.
In the dying moments of the game, Tague had a chance to hit one from the edge of the area, yet his strike was well over the Magpies' goal.
Molyneaux had another chance in added time, after beating the County defence to the ball, yet Brooks came out to make himself big and the game ended a goal apiece.
