Match preview: Stags vs Morecambe

19 April 2019

We welcome Morecambe to One Call Stadium on Good Friday for our latest Sky Bet League Two fixture (3pm kick-off). Here's all you need to know ahead of the clash...

The Stags will be without forwards Craig Davies, Nicky Ajose and Jordan Graham for the game. Long-term absentees Hayden White and Bobby Olejnik will also miss out.

The game will come too soon for defender Ben Turner, who has been struggling with a recent calf problem, and midfielder Otis Khan (hip).

For the Shrimps, A-Jay Leitch-Smith could miss out.

Stags made it three games unbeaten last weekend with a 1-1 draw away to Northampton. Wing-back Mal Benning was on target for Mansfield, as he scored directly from a corner inside the opening 15 minutes of the game. The amber and blue recorded successive victories prior to the clash at Sixfields, a 1-0 win at home to Cambridge and an emphatic 4-1 victory away to Exeter.

Morecambe have shown impressive form of late, having only lost one of their last seven games. Included in this run was a sublime 3-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers and a 4-2 win over high-flying MK Dons.

STAGS’ LAST FIVE GAMES: 2W | 2D | 1L

MORECAMBE’S LAST FIVE GAMES: 1W | 3D | 1L

We last faced the Shrimps back in late October at Globe Arena. Mansfield recorded a 1-0 win on the night, with midfielder Neal Bishop registering the game’s only goal with his half-volley in the first-half.

The referee for Friday’s fixture will be Trevor Kettle, assisted by Joe Simpson and Stephen Finch. The fourth official will be Danny Gratton.

The last Stags’ fixture that Mr. Kettle took charge of was our 0-0 draw at home to Swindon Town in late December.
