Match preview: Lincoln City vs Stags (Checkatrade Trophy)

4 September 2018

Stags make the trip to Sincil Bank on Tuesday evening for their Checkatrade Trophy fixture against Lincoln City (7.45pm kick-off). Here's all you need to know ahead of the clash...

Defensive duo David Mirfin and Zander Diamond will both miss out as they continue their recoveries from long term knee and back injuries, respectively.

Imps' striker Matt Green is a doubt for the game as he was kept out of Lincoln's 3-0 win over Exeter at the weekend with a knee injury.

The last time we faced the Imps was back in March of this year, a game that finished 1-1 at One Call Stadium.

Now-Stevenage midfielder Joel Byrom scored the only goal for the Stags, before Ollie Palmer equalised late on for the visitors.

Stags maintained their unbeaten start to the league season with a 1-0 victory over Carlisle United, with Tyler Walker scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Lincoln have started the season strongly, sitting atop of Sky Bet League Two with a three-point advantage over second-placed Newport County. Their most recent win was a 3-0 win away to Exeter City.

STAGS’ LAST FIVE GAMES: 1W | 3D | 1L

LINCOLN’S LAST FIVE GAMES: 3W | 1D | 1L

The referee for Tuesday night’s game will be Ross Joyce, assisted by Joe Clark and David Avent. The fourth official will be Christopher Ward.

Mr. Joyce last took charge of a Stags’ fixture in our 1-1 draw with Colchester at One Call Stadium in March of last season.

Tickets for this fixture are now off sale from One Call Stadium, but can still be purchased on matchday from Lincoln. Tickets purchased on matchday will see no price increase.

Full ticket information can be found here.

Parking at the ground is very limited and must be booked in advance. A little further away, adjacent to the South Park roundabout, additional parking is sometimes available (LN5 8EN). Otherwise, parking is available in and around the city centre.

Visiting supporters are welcomed into the Fanzone from 6pm, where there are bars, entertainment and food and drink on offer. There are catering points inside the stadium, and a fish and chip shop (Back of the Net) 200 yards away from the away stand.

The pubs closest to the ground are the Hop and Brewer and the Golden Eagle.

Turnstiles will open at 6.30pm tomorrow evening, and visiting supporters will enter the ground via Stacey West turnstiles 4-8.
