We will host our very own Macmillan Coffee Morning this Friday (28 September) in the Sandy Pate Sports Bar, all to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Coffee Morning will take place from 10am until 12noon in the Sandy Pate Sports Bar, and supporters are welcome to attend with cakes or biscuits to share, which can be homemade or bought.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. All donations made on the day are made to Macmillan. Last year alone, £27million was raised for Macmillan through their coffee mornings across the country.
Since the first Coffee Morning in 1990, over £200million has been raised for Macmillan in aid of helping people with cancer.
A statement on the Macmillan website reads: ‘Having a Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause.
‘One in two of us will face cancer, and the money you raise at your Coffee Morning will help us make sure no one has to face it alone.’
