Match preview: Stags vs Oldham Athletic

2 October 2018

Stags welcome Oldham Athletic to One Call Stadium on Tuesday evening for a 7.45pm kick-off in Sky Bet League Two. Here's all you need to know ahead of the clash...

Stags will be without midfielder Alex MacDonald who is set to have an operation on his knee on Tuesday. Defender Hayden White will also miss out with an ankle injury.

Mansfield will be without defensive duo Zander Diamond and David Mirfin, who continue their recoveries from long-term back and knee injuries, respectively.

Midfielder Jacob Mellis is available for selection after serving the last of his three game suspension during Saturday's 4-0 win over Northampton.

For Oldham, in-form forward Sam Surridge is a doubt for the match after missing the Latics' 0-0 draw against Swindon Town at the weekend.

Stags recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Northampton on Saturday and have only lost once in the league all season, at home to Exeter. Mansfield also have the joint-best defensive record on Sky Bet League Two, having only shipped seven goals in nine games.

Oldham find themselves in a strong sixth-place position ahead of Tuesday night's fixture. They are also unbeaten in their last three games.

STAGS' LAST FIVE: 3W | 1D | 1L

OLDHAM'S LAST FIVE: 1W | 2D | 2L

The last time we faced Oldham was in our Checkatrade Trophy fixture at One Call Stadium in January of last year.

Stags recorded a 2-0 win in the game, courtesy of Pat Hoban's late brace.

The referee for Tuesday's clash will be Thomas Bramall, assisted by Ken Haycock and Paul Graham. The fourth official will be Robert Atkin.

The last time Mr. Bramall took charge of a Stags' fixture was in our 0-0 draw away to Tranmere Rovers earlier this season.
