Stags’ under-18s return to Youth Alliance League Cup action this weekend when they travel to face Fleetwood Town under-18s on Saturday morning (11am kick-off).
With two wins from two in the competition so far, another win on Saturday would give John Dempster’s side an excellent chance of progressing to the knockout stages.
In Stags’ last fixture, against Grimsby Town under-18s – a team also in Group 4 – Stags produced a clinical display, in which they ran out deserved 3-1 winners.
Saturday’s opposition Fleetwood have won one and lost two of their opening three games in Group 4 – having recorded a convincing 4-1 win against Burton Albion under-18s earlier this month.
Fleetwood have had mixed fortunes in their league form so far this season – playing in the Youth Alliance Northwest Division - they currently sit mid-table with 10 points from their opening eight games – with a strong defensive record, having conceded just eight goals.
For supporters who wish to attend the game this Saturday, please see full details of the venue: Poolfoot Farm, Butts Road, Thornton-Cleveleys, FY5 4HX.
