Match preview: Cheltenham Town vs Stags

3 November 2018

Stags make the trip to Gloucestershire on Saturday 03 November to face Cheltenham Town (3pm kick-off). Here's all you need to know ahead of the clash...

Midfielder Alex MacDonald and defender David Mirfin will miss out on the clash, as they recover from knee injuries.

Defender Ryan Sweeney is available for selection after serving his one-match suspension during the 3-0 win over Crewe, and midfielder Otis Khan will continue to be assessed ahead of the game following a recent Achilles problem.

The Robins will be without midfielder Sam Jones, who is suspended, with Kevin Dawson also a doubt for the match.

The last time we faced Cheltenham was at One Call Stadium in January earlier this year.

It was an action-packed game, as both sides had men sent off, with the contest concluding with a CJ Hamilton winner deep in stoppage time.

Stags have lost just one of their last 12 games, and hold a record 11 matches unbeaten away from home in Sky Bet League Two heading into the match. Mansfield’s most recent clash ended in a 3-0 victory for David Flitcroft’s side over Crewe at Alexandra Stadium.

Cheltenham find themselves in 23rd place in Sky Bet League Two prior to Saturday’s match, with their last league victory being a 3-1 win away to Northampton in early September. Their most recent match ended in a 6-2 victory over Arsenal under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy.
