Reserves preview: Stags vs Morecambe

13 March 2018

Mansfield Town’s reserves will host Morecambe at Clipstone’s Worksop Van Hire Stadium in the Central League on Tuesday (1.00pm kick-off).

The game was scheduled to take place in February at the Globe Arena, Morecambe, however it has been rearranged for Clipstone due to a lack of pitch availability in Lancashire.

Stags have enjoyed relative success in the Central League this season, currently occupying fifth spot in the northern division with nine points from their five games.

Strong Stags’ sides have twice beaten York City this season, 5-0 at Bootham Crescent and 3-1 at Rainworth, in addition to a 5-0 thumping of Grimsby Town last month.

The three victories make up Stags’ nine points, as they slipped to an opening day 1-0 loss at Rotherham United, before a young Mansfield team lost 6-0 at Port Vale in February.

Stags are currently 16 points behind the league-leading Valiants, however the Staffordshire side have played five games more.

Morecambe are second-bottom of the division on goal difference after attaining four points from their five games.

Last time out, the Shrimps lost 4-2 to Port Vale following an entertaining 4-4 draw against Doncaster Rovers.

Spectators are permitted to attend the fixture at the following address:
