Industrious midfielder Alex MacDonald has won both the Stags’ Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for February.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a stand-out month, scoring twice and being extremely influential in Stags’ five matches – a spell which has seen them move to within two points of the automatic promotion places.
The former Oxford United man scored twice in February and his scintillating opener against Barnet has been voted as Stags’ fans Goal of the Month.
MacDonald picked the ball up on the left-hand side and cut in before curling an exquisite finish into the top corner of the net.
The former Scotland U21 international received 66 percent of the vote for his wonder-strike and he also picked up second place, as his drilled effort in our 5-0 win over Newport County received eight percent.
Striker Danny Rose and winger Alfie Potter came joint-third in the vote, Rose for his winner against Exeter City and Potter for his first goal against Newport County. The duo both received six percent of the overall vote.

In addition to his Goal of the Month gong, MacDonald received 34 percent of supporters’ votes in our Player of the Month award.
His string of outstanding performances have made him a worthy winner of the award, whilst flying winger CJ Hamilton came second with 21 percent of the vote.
Defender Krystian Pearce, who captained the side throughout February, came third with nine percent of the vote.
