Match preview: Stags vs Sheffield Wednesday

24 July 2018

Stags face Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night for their third of four pre-season fixtures against Championship opposition (7.30pm kick-off). Here's all you need to know ahead of the clash...

Stags' forward Danny Rose is unlikley as he looks to rebuild his fitness following being sidelined with a toe injury that he picked up towards the back end of last season.

Manager David Flitcroft confirmed on Saturday that Rose will play 'some part' in a behind-closed doors game on Wednesday morning at Hull City's training ground.

Defensive duo David Mirfin and Zander Diamond will also miss out due to their respective long-term knee and back injuries.

Owls' striker Gary Hooper will miss the game as he continues his recovery from a long-standing hip injury. The former Celtic and Norwich striker has not made a competitive appearance since Boxing Day last year.

The referee for Tuesday night's clash will be John Brooks, assisted by David Plowright and Hristo Karaivanov. The fourth official will be Ken Hughes.

The last Stags' game that Mr. Brooks took charge of was our 1-0 win over Yeovil Town in August 2016. Matt Green scored the game's only goal from the spot in the 64th minute.

Tickets for the match are available to purchase online via www.stagstickets.co.uk, at the ticket office on Quarry Lane, or by calling the ticket office on 01623 482 482.

Supporters can also purchase tickets on the day of the game. Tickets purchased on Tuesday will not be subject to any price increase.

The matchday ticket office will also be open for fans to buy tickets from 5pm until 7.30pm.

Supporters should note that the Quarry Lane End will be closed for tomorrow evening's game, unless demand dictates otherwise.

Away supporters can collect their tickets from the programme booth outside the North Stand prior to kick-off. Travelling fans are also advised that away tickets have now sold out and there will be no tickets available to purchase on the day of the game.

Supporters should also note that, on police advice and for purposes of saftey and ease of congestion, that the gate between the North Stand and the Ian Greaves Stand will be closed after full-time of the match. The gate will re-open approximately 20 minutes after the final whistle.

The Sandy Pate Sports Bar will be open from midday tomorrow, serving the main menu until 4pm.

Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available for both home and away supporters, and the bar is located at the rear of the Ian Greaves Stand.

Following this, the matchday menu will become available from the kiosk inside the bar, and will serve pies, chips, burgers and hot dogs.

The sports bar will remain open until 11pm after the match.

Car parking is severely restricted at One Call Stadium and works on a first come, first served basis. All reserved car parking spaces are within the location of the Ian Greaves Stand car park.

Matchday parking costs £5.00 per car. Please note that the car park shuts at 30 minutes prior to kick-off due to safety regulations.
