An exciting opportunity has arisen at Mansfield Town Football Club for an enthusiastic, proactive and knowledgeable individual to take on the role as head physiotherapist.

It follows news that Dan Kett will leave his position as physio of the Stags at the end of the month to take up a role in the specialist physiotherapy unit at St. George’s Park – English football’s national training centre.

The successful candidate must display excellent leadership abilities through clear and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team; ensuring a gold standard of medical care is delivered to all first team players.

Candidates must possess advanced clinical assessment and treatment skills as well as innovative rehabilitation techniques and training interventions to prevent injury, restore optimal function and contribute to enhancing sporting performance. Candidates must possess CSP and HCPC registration.

Whilst previous involvement in professional football is preferential; all candidates with an experience of working in a sporting environment will be considered.

Based at: One Call Stadium, Quarry Lane, Mansfield, NG18 5DA

Key Responsibilities:
-To manage the first team medical department to ensure the highest level of function and development is continued
-To provide highly accurate assessment and effective treatment ensuring a timely yet comprehensive return to pre-injury state for all first team players
-To lead on all pre-signing medical screenings for prospective first team players
- To promptly communicate all relevant medical information and provide updates on injured first team players to the first team manager
-To refer players for appropriate diagnostic imaging and specialist consultations and interventions where appropriate
-To liaise with appropriate medical specialists to ensure prompt referral; building a strong network of contacts and develop strong working relationships
-To manage and oversee all medical staff within the first team and academy set-ups; ensuring they are fully supported in their roles.
-To provide pitch side first aid for first team training as well as evening and weekend matches both home and away. This will include the implementation of Emergency Action Plans (EAP)
-To travel with the team to all fixtures, this will include overnight stays where necessary.
-To ensure the timely completion of all medical notes and that all medical information is accurately documented on Benchmark 54 (online system)
-To ensure that all medical equipment is fully functional and that stock levels of medical supplies are maintained
-To oversee and contribute to the continuous professional development of all sports science and medical staff within Mansfield Town Football club.
-To oversee FA anti-doping testing as required and insure all players are informed prohibited on supplements and medication

Essential:
-BSc Physiotherapy or MSc Physiotherapy
-Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the CSP
-HCPC registration
-Experience of working within professional sport
-UK driving licence
-First Aid in Sport qualification

Desirable:
-Experience of working within professional football
-Evidence of relevant post graduate professional development
-Acupuncture Accreditation and membership with the AACP
-FA Level 5 Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF)

Salary is dependent on experience and will be discussed with candidates during the interview process.
