Stags' youngsters flourishing on loan

10 January 2018

Read all about Stags' 10 young professionals who are currently out on loan gaining valuable first team experience...

Sam Wilson (Corby Town)

Highly-rated shot-stopper Sam Wilson is on a season-long loan deal with Evo-Stik side Corby Town. Their play-off push has faltered slightly in recent weeks, with three consecutive defeats, but they're still 'in the mix'. Wilson has been a permanent fixture between the sticks for Corby, last keeping a clean sheet before Christmas in a 1-0 win against Romulus.

Teddy Bloor (Frickley Athletic)

Although his early season goalscoring has tailed off, the right-back is loving life with Frickley Athletic. He is deployed either at right wing-back or right-wing and his attacking play has flourished since joining the Evo-Stik side. He is their highest appearance maker this season, with 30 outings.

Kieran Harrison (Belper Town)

Belper have won only one of their last six games, losing four and drawing one. Centre-half Kieran Harrison has been impressive at the heart of the Nailers' defence, however, and was part of the side which drew 0-0 with a strong Chesterfield side in the Derbyshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night, which they eventually lost on penalties.

Kane Baldwin (Belper Town)

After being a mainstay in the Belper defence prior to Christmas, defender Kane Baldwin has found first team opportunities hard to come by of late. He appeared in the win over Sheffield FC and the hard-fought defeat against leaders Basford United, but was replaced after 58 minutes of the Nailers' 8-1 defeat to Lincoln United and hasn't appeared since.

Louis Danquah (Gresley)

Left-back Louis Danquah has been on loan with Gresley since the beginning of the season and has become an integral part of their side. Usually occupying a left wing position, Danquah's defensive background has enabled him to do both sides of the game. His last goal came in a 4-2 defeat to leaders Basford United in November.

Cameron Healey (Corby Town)

Currently on loan alongside goalkeeper Sam Wilson at Corby Town, midfielder Cameron Healey is enjoying his spell in Northamptonshire. Although he's predominantly a traditional central midfielder, the Birmingham-born man scored two important goals last months. He bagged a goal in the 2-1 victory over Leek on 09 December before scoring in the 3-1 win against Spalding on 23 December.

Alistair Smith (Loughborough Dynamo)

Attacking midfielder Alistair Smith has made a high number of appearances for Dynamo, but his loan side have struggled for form recently. Picking up just one win in their last seven games, they've been forced into more defensive work than attacking play, which hasn't played to Smith's strengths. His last goal came on 25 November against Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Tyler Blake (Frickley Athletic)

Frontman Tyler Blake returned from a loan spell with Matlock Town and linked up with fellow loanee Teddy Bloor at Frickley Athletic. The former youth team captain has made quite the impact, scoring a brace in Frickley's 4-3 win over Chasetown on New Year's Day.

Jason Law (Gresley)

Silky forward Jason Law has been an important part of the Gresley side since joining, linking the midfield and frontmen with consummate ease. Although he's without a goal since October, Law is a vital cog in the Gresley machine as they attempt to stave off the threat of relegation.

Jordan Graham (Hednesford Town)

Fleet-footed frontman Jordan Graham has been a revelation with West Midlands' based Hednesford Town. He's impressed at Keys Park over the last couple of months and his loan deal was extended last week. Graham scored in the 5-0 win over Lichfield last night and also bagged goals in the 1-0 win over Newcastle Town and the 2-1 defeat to Cleethorpes, both in November.
