31 January 2018

Read the latest news about the involvement of nine of our young players at non-league clubs...

SAM WILSON (Corby Town)
Highly-rated shotstopper Sam Wilson's loan side Corby Town scored their first goal of 2018 against Frickley Town on Saturday, however it was all in vain. After our young 'keeper made a number of good saves – one from striker Tyler Blake, who is on loan with Frickley – Corby took the lead when Steven Leslie converted a 60th minute penalty. However, Gavin Allott scored twice in the final ten minutes to secure a 2-1 win for the visitors.

TEDDY BLOOR (Frickley Athletic)
Attacking right-back Teddy Bloor was part of the Frickley side which defeated Sam Wilson's Corby Town. Bloor, who has been a kingpin of the Frickley side this season, was replaced after Athletic went behind to Steven Leslie's penalty. Frickley are currently second in Evo-Stik South.

KIERAN HARRISON (Belper Town)
After winning their last two league matches, Belper lost 4-0 to bottom club Peterborough Sports at the weekend. The Nailers were dealt a blow in the build-up to the game as captain and centre-half Jon Guy was ruled out with a broken jaw, whilst goalkeeper Danny Roberts left to join Leek Town at short notice.

KANE BALDWIN (Belper Town)
Defender Kane Baldwin has found himself deprived of first team appearances lately for the Nailers. Baldwin was an unused substitute for the 4-0 defeat to Peterborough.

LOUIS DANQUAH (Gresley)
After almost a month without a game, Gresley returned to action on Saturday and were defeated 2-0 away to Bedworth United. Goals from Mark Albrighton and Kai Williams were enough for United, with Stags' loanee Louis Danquah coming off the bench for the final 18 minutes. His loan has since expired at Gresley and the left-back will spend the next month on loan at Carlton Town.

ALISTAIR SMITH (Loughbrough Dynamo)
Dynamo's poor run of form continued last weekend as they were comprehensively beaten 3-0 at home to Carlton Town. Attacking midfielder Alistair Smith was named in the starting XI, but was unable to lead his team-mates to a positive result as they remain in mid-table.

TYLER BLAKE (Frickley Athletic)
Playing alongside fellow loanee Teddy Bloor and against goalkeeper Sam Wilson, Blake was part of the Frickley side which beat Corby Town 2-1 on Saturday. The frontman could've put his side ahead on the first half, but was thwarted by an excellent save from Sam Wilson. Blake was replaced in the second half before Frickley went on to win.

JASON LAW (Gresley)
Tricky forward Jason Law was named in the Gresley starting XI for their first game in a month on Saturday, but they lost 2-0 to Bedworth United. He was replaced after 72 minutes by fellow loanee Jason Law.

JORDAN GRAHAM (Hednesford Town)
Pacey centre-forward Jordan Graham played the final 20 minutes of Hednesford's frustrating 0-0 draw with Whitby Town on Saturday. The Pitmen had chances to win it, striking the woodwork on multiple occasions, but weren't able to force a winner. They did, however, progress into the last eight of the Integro League Cup on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Matlock Town, as Graham played 76 minutes before being replaced.
