Angol's stylish finish wins Goal of the Month

8 January 2018

Striker Lee Angol's sublime match-winning goal against Wycombe Wanderers has been voted as the Stags' fans' Goal of the Month in an online vote.

The stylish flick was shortlisted alongside seven other goals from December and Stags' fans have been voting in their hundreds over the last few days to pick a winner.

Former Peterborough United frontman Angol's finish came against the Chairboys at Adams Park last month, capping off a superb performance in which Stags came from behind to win.

After winger Alfie Potter had got Stags back on level terms, the visitors piled on the pressure to force a winner.

And that winner came with just nine minutes remaining, courtesy of Angol. The influential Potter was involved again, playing a wonderful disguised pass to over-lapping left-back Mal Benning who fizzed a low cross into the six-yard box for Angol to guide it into the net.

You can watch Angol's brilliant goal here:

The 23-year-old's goal received 69 percent of the vote, ahead of loanee Kane Hemmings' goal against Morecambe, which received 15 percent and striker Danny Rose's header against the Shrimps, which received seven percent.

Thank you to everyone who voted.
