New hotel plans receive public acclaim

6 February 2018

Plans for a new Hampton by Hilton Hotel at One Call Stadium were unveiled at the club today, injecting a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation around the Town of Mansfield.

VIPs and dignitaries were invited to a special reception in our boardroom this morning, while hundreds visited our Kevin Bird Suite later in the day to view the plans.

Chairman John Radford said: "Everything has been so positive. We've had no objections to these plans. There has been much talk about hotels in Mansfield for a long time and I want to build a hotel of this calibre at the oldest professional football ground in the world for the good of the club and the town."

Chief executive officer Carolyn Radford told www.mansfieldtown.net: "It has been a really positive day. Everybody's enthusiastic about this project. We have a fantastic brand, the best builders, architects and constructors we can find. It will be of real quality.

"It'll be a unique destination for Mansfield," added Mrs Radford.

Andrew Plant owner of Acorn Signs & Engraving Ltd in Mansfield said: “The plans look absolutely fantastic. It’ll be very good for the town.

“It’s a step forward. It will attract business people to look at Mansfield and think ‘they’re going places’ and perhaps use organisations in Mansfield as opposed to those outside of the area."

Patrick Rogerson, managing director of Park Lane Self-Drive in Mansfield said: “This is something the Town has needed for some time. It’ll improve the look of the Town and the facilities in the area.

“The way it has been designed has been thought through very carefully. To put it in the corner [between the Ian Greaves and Quarry Lane Stands] is a brilliant idea.”
