Loanees hit by weather as numerous games postponed

14 February 2018

Some of Stags' players who are plying their trade out on loan had their games postponed due to adverse weather this week, but a number managed to beat the wintry conditions...

SAM WILSON (Corby Town)
Goalkeeper Sam Wilson’s loan side Corby Town slipped to their sixth successive defeat on Saturday. They lost 1-0 in a closely-fought game away to Alvechurch. The hosts scored the winner in the second half with Wilson having no chance as a bullet header flew into the top corner.

TEDDY BLOOR (Frickley Athletic)
Frickley’s eight-game unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday as they lost 3-2 to Peterborough Sports. Right-back Teddy Bloor had a good game for Athletic and ‘battled hard’ according to the club’s official website, but couldn’t stop them from slipping to defeat.

KIERAN HARRISON (Belper Town)
Centre-half Kieran Harrison had a rare weekend off on Saturday as Belper’s game against Romulus was postponed.

LOUIS DANQUAH (Carlton Town)
Left-back Louis Danquah is still yet to make his debut for Carlton Town after their matches against Gresley and Dunkirk were postponed over the last few days.

CALUM BUTCHER (Billericay Town)
Midfielder Calum Butcher completed 63 minutes of Billericay’s 2-2 draw with the Met Police on Saturday. He was replaced with just under half-an-hour to go and wasn’t included for Ricay’s 5-0 thrashing of Lowestoft on Tuesday.

JACK THOMAS (Tamworth)
Young midfielder Jack Thomas made the temporary switch to National League North side Tamworth on Monday and went straight into the starting line-up for their home game against Blyth Spartans on Tuesday. Thomas played 63 minutes of the 3-0 defeat before being substituted.

TYLER BLAKE (Frickley Athletic)
Striker Tyler Blake’s strike couldn’t prevent Frickley from slipping to a first defeat in nine games against Peterborough Sports on Saturday. With Frickley trailing 1-0, Blake slid in at the back post to crash the ball into the net for his third goal in two games.

JORDAN GRAHAM (Hednesford Town)
Frontman Jordan Graham has continued his excellent run of form with two goals in the space of four days. Graham scored the opener in Hednesford’s 3-2 defeat to Barwell on Saturday, before bagging the first goal in Town’s 4-1 win over Burton Albion in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

ZAYN HAKEEM (Grantham Town)
Grantham’s scheduled away game against Lancaster was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
