Stags' reserves welcome Doncaster Rovers reserves to the RH Academy on Thursday afternoon for their latest Central League Cup clash (2pm kick-off).
Mansfield's second string have played twice in this season's competition so far, recording one win and one loss in their opening two group stage games.
They started their cup campaign in style, with a 5-1 win over Peterborough at RH Academy. Omari Sterling-James (x2), Cameron Healey, Tom Fielding and Jordan Graham were all on target for the Stags in the game.
Tuesday saw the reserves succumb to their first loss in the Central League Cup this season, a 5-2 defeat against Notts County at Basford United Football Club. Forwards Fielding and Graham were once again on the scoresheet, recording their second goals in as many games.
The win elevated the Magpies to the summit of the North Central Group, yet they have played a game more than the Stags.
Mansfield sit in third position in the group table going into Thursday's clash, behind visitors Doncaster Rovers on goal difference.
Stags' second string came up against Rovers' reserves at Keepmoat Stadium earlier this season, when a strong Mansfield lineup ran out 5-1 winners.
Mansfield went all the way in last year's Central League Cup competition, beating Wigan 3-0 in the final.
Entry to Thursday's match is free, and the address for the RH Academy is as follows: RH Academy (3G pitch), Woburn Lane, Mansfield, Notts, NG19 7RT.
